Super Eagle’s Goalkeeper Adewale Celebrates 2-Year NPFL Victory with Akwa United

 

Super Eagle and Kwara United goalkeeper, Adewale Adeyinka, recently joyfully reminisced about his victory in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) two years ago while playing for Akwa United.

In a recent social media post, The Super Eagle goal keeper expressed his enduring gratitude, emphasizing, “I’m thrilled to have been a pivotal part of this historic moment on this very day, two years ago, with Akwa United Football Club!”

Highlighting an extraordinary season of collective accomplishments, he added, “It was an exceptional journey, marked by an unbeaten streak of 18 games, an impressive 19 clean sheets, and securing the golden boot with 19 goals.

meanwhile, this exceptional performance led us to secure the Nigerian Premier League title, culminating in a remarkable 5-2 victory against MFM at the Nest of Champions.”

Notably, Adeyinka not only clinched the title of the best goalkeeper of the season but also set a new record for the highest number of clean sheets in the history of NPFL.

Following his NPFL victory, Adewale received a prestigious call-up to the Nigerian National Team (Super Eagles), a significant achievement. Worth mentioning, he had previously held the position of the primary goalkeeper for the Golden Eaglets in 2013.

Subsequently, Adeyinka returned to his hometown club, Kwara United, making a significant impact and securing a coveted continental ticket during the 2021/2022 season.

As the curtains fell on the 2022/2023 season, Adeyinka found himself in a position to weigh several enticing offers from different clubs.

However, Kwara United has expressed their keen interest in extending his contract, Adeyinka remains undecided, keeping fans and admirers eagerly awaiting his decision.
