Nottingham Forest striker and Super Eagles sensation, Taiwo Awoniyi, has warmed hearts this festive season by extending acts of kindness to sports journalists in Kwara State and the less privileged in society.
In the spirit of Christmas, Awoniyi distributed gifts of food items to sports journalists, emphasizing the importance of love, compassion, and kindness during the holiday season. Despite his physical absence, the football star expressed solidarity with the community.
The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kwara State Chapter, lauded Awoniyi’s thoughtful gesture. Mallam Ayodeji Ismail, SWAN chairman, expressed gratitude, highlighting the player’s consistent generosity towards journalists.
“Awoniyi has once again demonstrated his generosity and regard for the fourth estate of the realm with his thoughtful gesture. We remember that he celebrated the 58th birthday of Mallam Bayour Issah, one of our fathers, by presenting him with a brand-new car,” Ayodeji remarked.
