Swear in With Ogun, Sango & Amadioha – Ohanaeze Tells Politicians

A former Ohanaeze Ndigbo spokesperson, Chuks Ibegbu, has today suggested that politicians should take oaths with African gods such as Ogun, Sango and Amadioha when they assume office.

Ibegbu made this proposal in a media chat with journalists.

He said that using African gods to swear in politicians would deter them from stealing public funds while in office.

Also urged the lawmakers to pass laws that would allow politicians to take oaths with African gods.

He said, “I propose that all political office holders in Nigeria take oaths with African gods.

“Politicians have lost their fear of the Bible and Qur’an and they need to swear with African gods to make them honest and fearful. If this is done, our politicians will stop looting our money and ruining our lives.

“Politicians should swear with Ogun, Amadioha, Chockonoze, and they will be careful before they loot our money. We call on the National Assembly to enact a law for this immediately.”

Ibegbu also called for the scrapping of security votes, saying that the “immunity clause and full-time national and state legislature are costly and unfair to Nigeria.

“80 percent of our resources are spent on unproductive politicians and elites who leave the masses in misery,” he said.
