Teenage Girl Crushed To Death By Tanker In Niger State

A tanker accident in Minna, Niger State, claimed the life of a 16-year-old girl, Priscilla Galadima, on Wednesday morning. The state command’s spokesperson, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, revealed this to the press on Thursday, according to News Agency of Nigeria.

Abiodun said that Galadima, who lived in Barkin-Sale area of Minna, was crossing the road near Shiroro roundabout when the tragedy occurred.

He explained that a Mercedes Benz car with Reg. No. SUL 140 AJ, driven by Daniel Joshua, 35, of Morris Minna, collided with a Toyota Yaris car with Reg.No. RJA 375 AA, driven by Abubakar Yahaya of Okada Road.

He added that the Mercedes driver did not stop after the collision and was chased by the Toyota driver.

In the chase, the Mercedes car hit Galadima, who was flung to the opposite lane where a tanker trailer with Reg.No JMT 576 YR, driven by Ibrahim Lawal of Jembutu Yola, crushed her.

Galadima was rushed to General Hospital Minna, where she was pronounced dead. The drivers involved in the accident were arrested and taken to Tudum Wada police station for further investigation. Galadima’s body was kept at the morgue of Minna General Hospital.
