The G5 governors, in the peoples democratic party has agreed to support the presidential candidate from the southern region.

G5 held a meeting in London yesterday majorly to decide on the presidential candidate to support in the 2023 election.

According to a piece of news that was published by the Punch Newspaper online this morning, it was reported that there are strong indications that, the five aggrieved Peoples Democratic Party’s governors, will endorse a presidential candidate from the Southern region. as they will not be supporting Alhaji Atiku Abubakar again, since the National Chairman of the party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu failed to resign from his position.

Information that was given by Punch made it known that the five governors will now be choosing between the candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, and that of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

An anonymous source who is close to the G5 spoke to Punch correspondent that justice and fairness demand that the South-East geopolitical zone should produce the next president of the country.

He said, “At the London meeting yesterday, G-5 governors agreed to work for the southern presidency, since Atiku failed to prevail on Ayu to step down, they should work for a southern candidate.”
