President-elect Bola Tinubu has recently expressed his congratulations to Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke following his recent legal victory at the Supreme Court
Governor Adeleke was declared the winner of the 2022 Osun State Governorship Election after the court upheld his petition and nullified the victory of former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.
Tinubu’s statement emphasizes the significance of respecting the judgement made by the Supreme Court and the importance of upholding democratic values.
Tinubu also commended the immediate-past Governor of the state, Adegboyega Oyetola, for his peaceful end to his first term and for deepening democracy along the way.
He noted that Oyetola discharged himself creditably during his first term, bringing transparency, efficiency, and accountability to the business of governance and earning himself a solid reputation.
Tinubu highlighted that Oyetola’s achievements as Governor have contributed significantly to the development of the state, including the establishment of a viable health sector, revitalization of agriculture and renewed efforts towards tourism in the state.
With the matter of the Osun State Governorship Election now settled, Tinubu urged Governor Adeleke to focus on the work ahead and to build upon the foundation laid by his predecessor.
He suggested that this was the time for Governor Adeleke to unite all factions of the state and promote continued peace and progress in the region.
Furthermore, Tinubu expressed his hope that Adeleke would ensure that he keeps his promises to the people of Osun State.
Adeleke won the Governorship election as a member of the People’s Democratic Party, on a campaign promise of creating more jobs for the Nigerian people.
Tinubu acknowledged Governor Adeleke’s commitment to job creation and emphasized the importance of creating employment opportunities for the Nigerian people.
He encouraged Governor Adeleke to look for ways to diversify the state’s economy and attract investors to the region.
