Two More Kwara Hajj Pilgrims Die In Mecca

Two additional pilgrims from Kwara State, Salman Alade and Ayishat Ologele, have reportedly died while on pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

The pilgrims were a part of the thousands of Nigerians who made the Hajj trip to the holy land.

Their demise came after that of two other pilgrims, Hawawu Mohammed and Saliu Mohammed, who were reported dead in Madinah. Saliu Mohammed arrived with the third group of the state contingent.

Four pilgrims have now died among the Kwara group, according to the most recent report.

It was learned that Ologele became ill while traveling from Medina to Mecca and died, and that Alade also became ill at Mecca and died.

It was thought that they passed away from natural causes, even if the precise reason for their deaths was not yet formally established.

The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board in Saudi Arabia verified the development.

The board offered its condolences to the families of the two pilgrims who had died, and Executive Secretary Abdulsalam Abdulkadir did the same, pleading with Allah to console and pardon the departed.
