UK Opens Visa Centre In Enugu State

The UK Government has opened a visa centre in Enugu State to facilitate visa applications by residents of the state and the South-east region of Nigeria.

The visa centre, which is located at the Government House, Enugu, was inaugurated on Monday by the UK High Commissioner to Nigeria, Richard Montgomery, who was accompanied by some officials of the UK Embassy.

The Enugu State Government, in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chidiebere Onyia, commended the UK Government for fulfilling one of the requests made by Governor Peter Mbah during the High Commissioner’s visit to the state in June.

The statement said that the visa centre would enhance the economic and cultural ties between Enugu State and the UK, as well as provide convenience and accessibility for visa applicants in the Southeast.

“The Enugu State Government looks forward to a strong, mutually beneficial relationship with the UK, as the visa centre would help cement the relationship.

“The government calls on the people, especially those residing in the South-east, to avail themselves of the opportunity provided to file their visa applications in the state,” the statement said.

It also assured that the state government would ensure improved security for both residents and visitors doing business in the state.

It further reiterated that the state was open for business and investment.
