University of Ilorin Tops List of Most Sought-After Universities for 10th Consecutive Year

In a remarkable achievement, the University of Ilorin has once again emerged as the most sought-after university in the country for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME).

This marks the 10th consecutive year that the prestigious institution has topped the list, solidifying its reputation as a prime destination for higher education.

During the 2023 policy meeting held on June 24, 2023, the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Ishaq Olanrewaju Oloyede, announced that the top 10 institutions were recognized for attracting a high number of applicants during the 2023 UTME application period.

Following the University of Ilorin, the University of Lagos secured second place, while the Lagos State University attained third place.

The Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, claimed the fourth spot, showcasing the diversity and excellence of higher education options available in the country.

 

Rounding out the top 10 were the University of Benin in fifth place, the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in sixth place, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in seventh place, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka in eighth place, Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna in ninth place, and the University of Ibadan in tenth place.
