Wife Of Late Singer Mohbad Reveals Why His Father Hates Her
The wife of the late singer Mohbad, Cynthia Omowunmi Aloba, has opened up on the reason behind the animosity between her and her father-in-law, Oladimeji Aloba. She made the revelation during her testimony at the coroner’s inquest into Mohbad’s death on Tuesday.
Omowunmi told the coroner, Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi, that Mohbad’s father blamed her for causing a rift between him and his son, leading to their estranged relationship. She said that the problem started after the birth of her son, Liam, when Mohbad refused to have his naming ceremony in Ikorodu, where his father lives.
She also said that Mohbad’s father used to bring his girlfriend to their rented apartment in Lekki, and that she never objected to it because it was his son’s house. She said that she and Mohbad’s father were very close before, and that he even prayed for her to conceive Liam.
However, she said that the situation changed when she and Mohbad decided not to hand over Liam’s placenta to his father, as per their tradition. She said that this angered Mohbad’s father, who accused her of being a witch and influencing his son against him.
She also denied the allegations made by Mohbad’s father, who claimed to have seen a blood-soaked bucket in Mohbad’s room. She said that it was a lie, and that the bucket contained water from a minor cut. She said that Mohbad’s brother, who lived with them, could confirm this.
She expressed her frustration with the social media attacks on her character, and said that she had to leave her husband’s house after his death due to the threats she faced. She also revealed that Mohbad’s Canada visa was approved just a day before he died.
The coroner adjourned the hearing to November 15th.
