Woman Kills Her Stepson In Ikorodu, Lagos
A woman has been arrested for allegedly killing her stepson in Ikorodu area of Lagos State. The incident happened on Wednesday, September 27, 2023.
According to eyewitnesses, the woman and her husband were about to dump the corpse of the boy, who was wrapped in a mat, when their neighbour caught them and raised an alarm. The neighbour alerted the police and other residents of the area, who quickly gathered at the scene.
The police arrived and ordered the couple to open the mat and reveal the body of the deceased. As soon as the mat was opened and the dead boy’s face became visible, the crowd let out a wail at the sight of the lifeless body. The boy, who was identified as Samuel, was said to be 12 years old and a student of a nearby school.
The woman, whose name was not disclosed, was accused of poisoning the boy because she hated him and preferred her own children. She reportedly confessed to the crime and said she had been planning to get rid of him for a long time. She also claimed that her husband was aware of her actions and supported her.
The police took the woman and her husband into custody and said they would be charged with murder. They also took the body of the boy to a mortuary for autopsy. The police spokesperson, who confirmed the incident, said the investigation was ongoing and urged the public to remain calm and avoid taking the law into their own hands.
