Nigerian-born New Zealand professional mixed martial artist and kickboxer Israel Adesanya had a memorable encounter with Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Friday, October 27.
Adesanya, who is the current UFC middleweight champion, shared a video of the meeting on his Instagram story, where he expressed his admiration for Ronaldo, who plays for Manchester United and the Portugal national team.
In the video, Adesanya and Ronaldo can be seen exchanging pleasantries and compliments, with Adesanya telling Ronaldo, “I’ll come watch one of your football games.” Adesanya also remarked on Ronaldo’s height, saying, “You’re pretty tall; I didn’t know you were this tall.”
Ronaldo, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest football players of all time, smiled and thanked Adesanya for his kind words. He also praised Adesanya’s skills and achievements in the UFC, saying, “You’re amazing, man. You’re doing great.”

Adesanya was there to attend the Formula One Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, while Ronaldo was there to play in a friendly match between Brazil and Portugal. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, with Ronaldo scoring the equalizer for Portugal in the 88th minute.
